Lockdown Affairs Are on the Rise
COSMOPOLITAN – Apr 17 – Illicit Encounters has seen an 18% rise in activity from male members, and a 12% rise from female members in recent weeks. More than half of these men said they'd initiated new affairs in the last four weeks, with 74% of them citing "boredom" as the reason for seeking out new lovers. 46% of female members have made contact with a new partner in that time – with the majority saying the coronavirus crisis had exposed the weakness of their relationship and made them realise they needed "fresh stimulus".

Its survey found out that 37% of users said they had broken up with a lover in the week before Valentine's.

Cheaters Tend To Get Caught After Their Third Affair
METRO.CO.UK – June 30 – Illicit Encounters surveyed 1K adulterers and found that 63% had been caught out by their partners at some point in their marriage, with the majority getting caught after their third affair. 11% were caught during their first affair after tying the knot, 12% during the second, and 21% during their third. It's thought this is because on third affairs people tend to get more lax about covering their tracks. 39% of those surveyed were caught by a partner reading their phone messages, 22% by their partner reading emails, 20% thanks to lying about their whereabouts, 14% being spotted out with a lover, and 5% caught because a family friend ratted them out.

850,000 UK People Are Cheating Online
MIRROR.CO.UK – Feb 23 – ~850K people (5% of UK's married population) have registered on IllicitEncounters.com, the UK's largest extra-marital dating site. Men as old as 94 and one 76-year-old woman are among those to have signed up. The youngest user is just 22. Illicitencounters.com has been slammed by The Marriage Foundation and a dad from Merseyside who is going through a divorce after his wife used a similar site.

Paul Shurey – CEO & Founder Of Illicitencounters.com
GUARDIAN.CO.UK – June 15 – Paul Shurey (aged 54) died after a fall in India this April. He was one of the key movers and shakers in the rave scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s. He began running unofficial parties from 1989. He decided to launch Tribal Gathering with several different stages and DJs. Later he moved into digital marketing and went back to university to study television production. He founded IllicitEncounters.com, a dating site for married people who wanted to have affairs. Shurey was still running the site when, in March this year, he travelled to India. He was there when he suffered a fall, hitting his head and suffering injuries from which he never recovered.
Paul Shurey, born December 24, 1958, died April 24, 2013.
