The reason stated was “the burden of the state sales-taxes” and the need to shift “marketing focus elsewhere until there is more certainty in the industry.” California is just one of the 17 states now facing legislation that would obligate online merchants to collect sales tax, despite lacking a physical presence in the state in question.
