Online Daters Split on Vote; Female Military Singles Supporting Barack Obama.
November 1, 2012 -- /PR WEB/ -- When it comes to selecting the next Commander in Chief, male military singles are choosing Mitt Romney, it was announced today. In a new poll conducted by militarysingles.com, the largest online dating community for military singles, 75% of male voters are planning to elect Mitt Romney, while 57% of female voters are supporting current President, Barack Obama. The poll, which also asks military singles to weigh in on issues of importance, was conducted by Avalanche, LLC., which acquired the website in July 2012. A pioneer of online dating, Avalanche operates a network of 15+ general and niche dating websites.
“We were excited to acquire militarysingles.com, especially at such an important moment for the future of our country, an election year. This poll is an excellent opportunity to really understand what’s important to the men and women in our military,” said Meir Strahlberg, CEO of Avalanche, LLC. “Our poll represents a huge voting block, military service members from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard, who number more than 1.4 million active, and 800,000 reservists. Collectively, the military could swing the vote from one candidate to another.”
The poll addressed hot-button topics including foreign issues, such as Iran, as well as domestic issues, including the economy, immigration, gun control, same-sex marriage, military spending, and Medicare. For example, poll findings revealed that 60% of female voters support taking military action against Iran, while only 25% of male voters were in support of a potential war. When it comes to same-sex marriage, male and female voters were split, with 80% of male voters against same-sex marriage while the majority of female voters, 70%, were for same-sex marriage. And, when it came to immigration, both majority of male voters (83%) and female voters (77%) were in favor of stricter immigration laws.
