The Moment Of Truth

Irena managed this balancing act on our Segway tour of Tampa on Valentines day. This is the moment she stood hands free for the first time. We rode along the Tampa Bay waterfront and even piled into an elevator. We went 10 floors up in a parking garage to ride around on the rooftop after dark, looking up at the Tampa skyscrapers. Magic Carpet Glide provided our tour from Channelside. $50 each for a couple of hours tour. The 2nd generation Segways were easy to operate and so smooth to ride.

C-section moms get a high level of care for ~5 days while their tummies
heal, but they can only see their babies for a few hours a day. No lifting
and carrying. I delivered a laptop and ipod to Irena yesterday after she
mentioned she was bored out of her skull. She had a laptop on her knee this
morning so the nurses figured she was well enough to move. Now she has
Alexandra to look after and keep her occupied round the clock, and I have
extended visiting hours.

Irena said having Alexandra by c-section was 'a piece of cake.' She
actually looked through the window at Sabine who was watching everything,
saw her shocked face, and Irena started laughing during the c-section.
