WALL STREET JOURNAL -- Jan 31 -- Sites like Friendster.com let users meet new people through their friends on the network -- in effect, a mutual friend provides an introduction. As the popularity of these sites has boomed, more people have realized that online networking can also be useful for business purposes. Making new business contacts is the third-most-popular feature of online networks -- after contacting friends and looking for jobs -- says Nate Elliott, an analyst at Jupiter Research, a unit of Jupitermedia Corp. of Darien, Conn. A total of 15% of all online users are interested in using networks to make business contacts.

I said it before and I'll say it again.
Business Social Networking will FINANCIALLY eclise online dating and be a larger revenue generator. The reason is compaies like OpenBC, Ryze, Linked in and others can charge ANNUAL FEES as opposed to monthly fees. People would be willing to pay it.
So, people plying on an annual basis for a membership, compared to 3-4 months (the average online dating membership), you can easily see the revenue for business networking will be higher. Volumes of people should be higher for dating, but revenues will probably be more for the business aspect.

Because payroll constitutes about half of the budget for most companies, selecting employees is best seen as an investment. Fortune 500 companies estimate the cost of mishiring to be between two and four times the person's salary. Consider the impact of a bad hire: lost business and business opportunities, angry customers, low morale, low productivity.
The Best Predictors Of Job Performance
Most hiring managers use a variety of techniques for evaluating a candidate for employment and comparing them to other candidates. These may include background checks, reference checks, discussion with previous employers, review of education and training, college grade point average, biographical data, psychological testing, and, almost always, one or more face-to-face interviews.
Surveys commonly find that most hiring managers attach the greatest weight to the interview, despite its well-documented shortcomings. What is surprising to most people is that psychological testing is a better predictor of job performance than any other single measure.
The table below is taken from a landmark study in one of the most respected psychological journals. Though similar results have been obtained in a number of other similar studies, the Hunter and Hunter study is certainly the most widely known and most frequently cited.

As can be seen, psychological testing outranks all other factors in predicting ultimate job performance.
Most striking is the very low validity coefficient for interviewing.
