PRNEWSWIRE -- Feb 23 -- For the first time 80 million singles have a magazine of their own. Match.com today announced the online launch of Happen Magazine www.happenmagazine.com focused exclusively on dating and relationships. Happen Magazine will be free until April 2005. After that full access by subscription or as part of a Match.com subscription.
Mark Brooks: Ahem... Mary Spio is hooked into Hollywood and launched the first quality, glossy singles magazine One2One Living; Started in 2002, now has 178,000 distribution.
Very curious and amusing how Match now offers an online magazine with the general look and feel of "U" Magazine on True.com (which significantly predates "Happen" magazine).
I guess imitation truly is the sincerest form of flattery!
Thanks

Meetic has a magazine in France as well. For any online dating site, marketing is key to success. Match and Meetic are trying to brand their name to the public. It is one of a myriad of techniques required for success.
Best of luck to Match on this.
