OPW -- June 26 -- A Best Western in Utah was reported as using a wireless ISP that blocks Myspace. InfoWest explains on their blog and site that they are blocking Myspace because it is a context for dating and personal ads.
Mark Brooks - I hope this trend stops here. Your comments please.
As an employee of InfoWest, I just want to say that InfoWest (the ISP mentioned) is being misrepresented here. InfoWest offers a content filtering service, called "Clean Internet" to our customers for an additional fee. We do NOT apply this filtering to customers who don't want it, they have to contact us and ASK for the service to be added. If the Best Western Coral Hills hotel wanted us to unblock a website, or to stop filtering altogether, they'd only have to ask. You can find out more information on our Clean Internet filtering service here: http://www.infowest.com/other-services/Clean_Internet but I hope it's understood that we only offer this service to customers who want it.

It is more than eight months that Tribe.net can not be seen from Argentinean IP addresses: 190.48.xx.xx or 190.49.xx.xx (checked with many different computers from libraries, cybercafes, etc)
I do not know if they intentionally blocked part of my country!

Mark, thanks for taking the time to comment and correct. Is the customer in this instance the individual Best Western hotel, the Best Western hotel chain in Utah, or the actual individual customer in the hotel?
