NMA.CO.UK -- Sep 1 -- YouTube is going up against Facebook by launching Colleges on YouTube, offering students and staff closed networks through which they can contact each other and watch videos. The service launched yesterday serving over 30 US colleges.
Mark Brooks: The student market is the largest hyper-viral 'niche' market around. Moms, is another great market. Minti, amongst others, serves that market well.
I think that UTube could give facebook a serious run for their money. I will have to check out the college networks part! However, I will have to say, I really enjoy facebook, so the switch would be hard.

My two oldest girls love youtube.com
I not heard of the others. But they spend a lot of time watching the videos and enjoy the manga uploads and the skits that kids upload pretending to be characters of their favorite games and manga or anime.
Kids are great! And some of these kids are extremely talented! Kudos to youtube.com and those like them that came up with this idea. I think there are some budding Steven Spielbergs out there.
I have also watched a few of the videos. There are very inspirational videos as well, such as the Father and Son team of Team Hoyt: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=team+hoyt&search=Search
I don't know how places like this are about screening and keeping it clean. If there were a site that actually made sure the videos were kid appropriate that would be great.
God bless,
