Mark Brooks: The Matchmaking Institute trains and certifies matchmakers. The board will help set standards for the brick and mortar matchmaking industry.
Wow, I didn't know that certification is available for matchmaking - very cool. As a side note, when younger, I earned a certificate to be a fully licensed baby sitter (no lie!) =) My babysitting days lasted only one gig.
Hmmm, I wonder how much The Matchmaking Institute charges in fees...also, what is the criteria by which one measures the competence and/or effectiveness of one matchmaker over the next?
Life is good.

The Matchmaking institute is great and wonderful. I took the certificate and course 10/13, 10/14, and 10/15 in 2006. Matchmaking is definitely not an easy science. It is enjoyable though. I have been doing computers, business, and now law for many years since college. Matching singles up an interesting field to get into. Especially if you are a social worker, psychologist, relationship coach. Even a psychiatrist would benefit from this as well. Lisa Clampitt and Jerome Chasques are friendly and helpful. Jerome even called me once on a a Sunday night for 1 hour to speak. This is good for even already existing matchmakers who want to learn from the best and talented. The single and dating field is exciting and ever changing as you never know what to expect from people. The Matchmaking course was alot fun to do and nice people. It was one of the best 3 days of fun that I have ever had. If you have any questions then you can email me. I have told other people to change fields and take this also. Thanks! :)
