EASY DATE -- Mar 12 -- Edinburgh based EasyDate Ltd. and speed dating company, SpeedDater have merged. The acquisition of Speed Dater by EasyDate was the result of a lengthy one year courtship and was completed on 7th March 2008. The Speed Dating Events and Online business is now under the full ownership of EasyDate and the ex-directors of SpeedDater are now concentrating on their travel business Speed Breaks.
Eh! Can I make an educated guess that the comments aren't moderated.
Easydate have acquired the UK's largest speed dating company and some idiot comments that they can provide 'web presence' and 'free blogs'. Show me the relevance...
I'd like to see some moderation and relevant comments on what is actually a major shift in this industry.

Easy Sean, relax :)
I think the lack of comments is because most in the industry had seen the decline of SpeedDater over the last year and it's not a major event that it has been acquired.
I know the guys were talking about focussing on their events company at the Amsterdam idate event almost 18 months ago.
I hadn't seen SpeedDater.com as any kind of competition for the last year - maybe you guys can do more with it but it's not a massive newsworthy event as they've been in decline for so long.
The new sites like woome.com seem to be where the speed dating idea is going. We run the online arm of a few offline speed dating companies and most seem to be suffering at present.

I was really referring to the fact that the spam comment has no relevance here...

It would be *so* easy to add a "report comment" button for the site administrators to decide whether to delete spam like comments. An easy fix, rather than having administrators approve every forum comment.
