OPW - May 3 - The Asian Internet Dating Conference is this Thu/Fri in Tokyo. Irena and I are flying out from London on Monday so we can be bright eyed and bushy tailed and non-jetlagged by the time my presentation time rolls around. Luckily, Brenda, Irena, Petra and Miho have armed me with a bushel of fantastic info on the dating culture, market and lead players. I have 12 hours on the plane to complete my revision, and time for a couple trial runs on Wednesday, when I'm not at the Akihabara, toy shopping.
Thanks to White Label Dating, World Dating Partners and Userplane for sponsoring the show. I'll be exhibiting Courtland Brooks and OnlinePersonalsWatch and trying to establish some connections with the Japanese market leaders so I can be better informed on the Japanese dating market. The Asian conferences tend to be small, but we usually get a few heavy hitters along. I'll interview a couple of them and post videos on Friday. Gee, I wonder if we'll have wifi. Hey, it's Japan, hang me if they don't. We're at the Palace Hotel, opposite from the Imperial Palace. Nice! I'll do some live-blogging and interviewing to keep you informed. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the presentations from Microsoft, SocialNetworking.jp, Gemini Mobile and Nomura Research Institue. There'll be lots of goodies to report on. Watch this space ;-) - Mark Brooks
Looking forward to seeing you and all other attendees there.
I've just arrived in Tokyo and am excited to see the development of niche dating.
It doesn't look like a large event, so hopefully it'll give everybody an opportunity to network more than usual,
Ross
