It really bothers me sometimes that PoF is as popular as it is, given that its design is hideous and that it's riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. There's definitely a lesson in there, though.

PoF is popular from a traffic perspective, but so would be a restaurant that gave free lunches - doesn't mean it's a great business from a brand and profit perspective.

Markus is well known to be developing a paid dating site and I expect that to be launching soon. Very little stays secret in this industry for very long, so am sure we'll see more details leak out along with his plans for affiliates / white labels, etc.
