Impressive number of nominations. When I read this in their investment prospectus my head exploded: "This past March, YouNoodle predicted the value of Lovetropolis.com would reach $44.7 million, by summer’s end. At that point, the dating site will only be about six months old." I see 3,000 monthly visitors in the US or is the growth more on the international side?
My usual statement- they need to be spending a few hundred thousand dollars a month in marketing costs *at the bare minimum* to even come close to being a top-25 dating site. If they ain't spending it, they ain't making it.

I believe the quote in Mr. Evans' post is from a press release. That aside, Lovetropolis.com does claim worldwide membership and their analytics back that up. They have visitors from around the globe. Also, since this site focuses on social media as a marketing tool, I wonder if they have a different slant on marketing. It's always good to anchor your boat where the fish are; and the audience for online dating is on the Web. Traditional marketing may not be the way this company is electing to go; but that does not mean they are not an excellent option for online daters, nor does it mean that they are not investing in promoting their services.

Lovetropolis.com currently ranks 212,826 out of 17 million websites. This places Lovetropolis.com in the top 1.25% of websites worldwide based on Alexa's measure of website popularity. Also, in the U.S., Lovetropolis.com ranks at 23,959 out of millions of websites. This rank also places Lovetropolis.com near the top of popular websites in the U.S.
Lovetropolis.com is a relatively new dating site, so there is no need to address having fewer visits than competitors who have been in business for a decade or more. As a newcomer, Lovetropolis.com is making an important and welcome splash in the market and doing so by using innovative new media tactics and digital elements to promote the site. There are many more ways than Mr. Evans suggested to rise to the top.

As one of 100+ dating sites to launch recently, let's give the company six months to establish traction and we'll see where things stand.
I question any company that throws ridiculous valuations in a press release, its amateurish and the investors I work with would most likely agree.
The $20 lifetime membership is an interesting idea, although I don't like them missing out on all of that reoccurring revenue. Unless this is a launch special?

Lovetropolis.com launched in February of 2009, 10 months ago. Based on the nominations the site received, steadily improving traffic and the recognized collaborating experts contributing, it appears that they have, in fact, established traction. I also like the lifetime membership offer when a profile is activated. Since the Lovetropolis home page indicates that it is a limited time offer, I would support Mr. Evans' guess that the pricing is a special promotion.
