OPW - Jan 23 - Real Simple magazine ranked four of the most popular internet dating sites. Plentyoffish is huge and free but has distorted images. Match is simple to navigate, allows keyword search, and has smartphone apps but has poor screening techniques. TRUE offers background checks but has tacky ads. eHarmony does the matching for members but is more expensive.

Over time I have used each one of these services and the numbers do not always tell the true story. Even though POF is free it could still end up costing you more money. I look at it like this. Time is money and POF costs you alot of time. The only option here is to send messages back and forth. I have also found members on this site to be the ones that are just out of relationships and testing the dating waters or their on here because it is free. I want to meet someone that is looking for a relationship not one just looking to boost his or her ego. Plus when they are paying for it they will get off when they meet someone. On free site they are much more likely to leave their profiles up. If you are truly wanting to meet a like minded individual for friendship, fun, or a life partner look for options not just price. Where can you go and enjoy the conversation, send im's, call pc to pc, or chat in a chat room. This in the end will save you time and therefore lots of money.
