CNN MONEY - Jan 7 - Spark.com, created by the same people behind JDate.com, BlackSingles.com and ChristianMingle.com, will offer one month free to all 5,000 members ousted from BeautifulPeople.com yesterday for allegedly putting on a few holiday pounds. Talk about walking into a hornets nest. Can any one say Hypocrisy!
I had to laugh when I read Sparks press release...
"As a company based on inclusion said Adam Berger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Spark Networks®, the parent company of Spark.com
Hmmm a company based on inclusion...
(Below excerpt taken from the same Spark press release)...
...created by the same people behind such successful online dating sites as JDate®.com, BlackSingles.com® and ChristianMingle®.com,
For a company who claims it is based on inclusion, having dating sites where religion, color, or age is the prerequisite is, how do we say, bloody amusing.
Let’s remember BeautifulPeople.com has members from every race, color, creed, religion and sexual orientation.

...except ugly people. You forgot to mention those ones. I take it the def'n of hypocrisy eludes you?
And, sites based on specific groups have nothing to do with the discrimination you are implying.
Of course, we all know there weren't 5,000 kicked off in the first place. Brilliant PR, of course - for both you and Spark.

At first glance, it's a novelty site that leaves the same taste in my mouth as Ashley Madison. Sure it's going to exist, just like drug dealers (they both serve a need unsavory to some, necessary to others.)
But we have to remember when Online Booty Call came out and everyone thought "oh, another casual/adult" dating site, and look where their efforts led them (profitable and launching Herway).
Perhaps Beautiful People has really nailed their niche. Or it's just another dating site that will limp along making some money but not enough to really be considered seriously.
