SYDNEY MORNING HERALD - Apr 12 - Weeks into a "soft opening", with no publicity or advertising, Australian women have adopted the Ashley Madison agency motto - "life is short, have an affair" - with an enthusiasm founder Noel Biderman says he's not seen before. "We've never had more women than men, it's always been about two to one, male to female," Biderman said. Biderman said 40,000 Australians so far had joined the agency, which he started in Canada in 2001, fusing the two most popular children's names at the time to come up with AshleyMadison.com. I have trouble believing Biderman's numbers. 2:1 ratio? More like 10:1 if that.
I also think many people create profiles here just for the novelty of it like my friends have. No way to count those. And before Biderman gives any more analysis of the impact of affairs on a marriage, I think he should have one himself. Then get back to us. It would do much for the credibility of his site, his opinions and his interviews if he would disclose his own affairs and the effect of them on his marriage, his wife and yes, even his kids. Any thoughts, Mark?
