Facebook Becoming Key Evidence In Divorces
CBS4 - June 4 - The days of divorce attorneys hiring private investigators to dig up information on cheating spouses may be long gone thanks to the rise of social networking. According to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, 81% of the nation's top divorce attorneys say using social networking as evidence is growing. Facebook is the primary source of divorce evidence the AAML reported. 66% percent of AAML respondents said Facebook was the primary source, followed by 15% choosing MySpace, Twitter was selected by 5%.

High-End Matchmakers
HUFFINGTON POST - June 4 - Men make up the majority of a high end
matchmaker's clients. Women are generally not the clients but potential
matches for the men; and in most cases, they simply pay an application
or interview fee. Matchmaker Richard Easton charges his clients $50K to
find the life partner. He does offer a $10K starter rate for young Wall
St. and Silicon Alley/Valley types as well. Janis Spindel launched her
agency in New York 11 years ago, then set up an office in L.A. after
going there to produce the TV show based on her life, "Miss Match." In
order to get on the "roster," women must be very attractive, fit, be
either book smart or street smart, and have a successful career of some

Launched in April, the site is an offshoot of Taylor's baby boomer social networking site, Eons. Meetcha is a subscription service ($30 a month), and Boston-area subscribers can attend group social gatherings. Live gatherings in more cities will be added if the idea takes off.

WSJ - June 2 - Glamour magazine approached Match.com and within weeks they were readying the launch of Glamour Matchmaker, a dating service featuring men selected by the magazine's staff from the sea of singles on Match.com. 70% of visitors to Glamour.com are single or divorced. When Glamour approached Match.com's business development team, the dating site's executives saw an avenue to legions of affluent, single women with men on their minds, says Match general manager Mandy Ginsberg. British study has found. Before marriage, all loved-up pairs excitedly
talk about careers, friends, music, babies - for an average of 50
minutes in every 60. But once the knot is tied, Brit couples go down to
40 minutes an hour, which will almost halve to 21 minutes after 20
years and drop again to 16 minutes after 30 years, reports The Daily

WASHINGTON POST - June 1 - Virtual Dating Assistants (VDA) is one of the first full-scale Internet-dating outsourcing companies. For $600, Virtual Dating Assistants guarantees clients two dates a month; the "executive service" package promises five dates a month for $1,200. VDA do it all: write a client's profile, pick out potential matches, send introductory e-mails and message back and forth until a date is confirmed. Then they turn over the correspondence and tell the lucky fellow where and when he's meeting Madame X. Jared Gordon, editor of A Bad Case of the Dates, a blog that collects dating horror stories, said: "It's awful! You're misrepresenting yourself. You're lying about yourself." Mark Brooks, editor of Online Personals Watch, a site that tracks Internet dating trends, says this type of outsourcing is an ethically questionable form of "misrepresentation." Still, he expects the field to grow. Professional matchmakers often charge $5,000 or more a year and have a limited pool of matches. Online dating sites are populated with countless singles but can require more attention than some users are willing to devote. "It may look like instant gratification, like you dive into the pool and instantly come up with a fish, but it doesn't really work like that," Brooks says. Five companies out of seventeen internet dating companies who responded, use ReturnPath/Habeus. Feedback was all positive so they're definitely a company you should consider using. Two companies use SendGrid. Other companies that are in use with sizable dating sites are Unsubcentral, BlueHornet, United Mailsolution (now Experian CheetahMail), SPF Records and Authsmtp.com.
