OPW - July 23 - A new compatibility test developed by Robert Epstein, Ph.D., a longtime psychology researcher, is now available here. There are no statistics involved. Dr. Epstein claims the test helps you find out whether someone you already know will make a good long-term romantic partner for you. People can use it with someone they just met, someone they're dating or living with, or even with their spouse. The test does what engineers call a "failure mode analysis." It identifies the threats to long-term happiness - what people sometimes call the "deal breakers." Once those are on the table, you can talk about them and make accommodations. Dr. Epstein doesn’t believe in matchmaking by numbers. We have interviewed him to find out what does he believe in. The interview will go live this Wednesday.
Are We Good Together?:
"If two people meet each other's basic relationship requirements, and if they also feel mutually attracted, they have a good chance of being able to build a happy, long-term, loving relationship."
blah, blah, .... blah, blah,
That is exactly what WeAttract said during 2003 (WeAttract no longer exists, it failed).

That test is only a recommendation engine based on self reported data and not a compatibility matching method per se.
Using a recommendation engine based on self reported data gives you 2 possibilities:
The person you look for does not exist in this World.
or
The person you look for does not want to meet you because you are not compatible at all.
It seems Dr. Epstein is not aware about:
- The discovery uncovered by Eastwick and Finkel 2008; also Kurzban and Weeden, 2007; Todd, Penke, Fasolo, and Lenton, 2007 who found that people often report partner preferences that are not compatible with their choices in real life.
- A collection of fresh and new papers clearly showing a connection between personality similarity* and marital happiness / dyadic success (stability and satisfaction) for some persons.
*Similarity is a word that has different meanings for different persons or companies, it exactly depends on how mathematically is defined.
