CNET NEWS - Dec 30 - Among the 750 Internet users in the U.S. surveyed by Pew, 65% said they've paid for online content. Music, software, and mobile apps were the most popular items among paying users. Lower on the list were cheat codes for video games and access to online dating sites. Only 2% admitted to buying adult content online. On average, the people polled spend ~$10 per month on online content.

Free dating sites have helped stifle revenue growth. Online dating revenues are still growing, but internet dating sites have moved lower in the ranks supplanted by the huge growth in online music, etc.

Everything cant be free, so why not. I would expect revenues to continue to rise. It seems there was at one time certain content that could be obtained for free and now people are charging for it.
