OPW - May 15 - If you're going to go through the trouble of localizing and fully translating your site to a new language, you should consider the top languages by GDP. Here's an excerpt from the Globalization Group.
The top 15 languages account for 90% of the worlds GDP.
Interesting post. As far as my experience goes, GDP is of course a deciding factor, but cultural factors are also important.

Also, Spanish has a huge user base, and the viral effect within Spanish markets is higher than in English speaking ones.
