DAILYMAIL.CO.UK - May 3 - Four out of 10 of the British women surveyed confessed they are after romance, lasting love and even marriage with their toy boys. 44% want something steady, safe and secure while 13% are after a new start following a break-up. The poll of 4,5K singles by Parship shows women in their 40s and 50s are keen to date a man who is five years or more younger. In 2005, similar research revealed just 8% considered dating a younger man. 18% per cent of guys under 40 said they were actively looking to meet an attractive, older woman, compared to 5% five years ago.

Guys age 40+ are still expecting to date women in their twenties. Meanwhile, women in their 40s typically have dated older. Into a dwindling demographic as older men are less active and prolific (i.e. they die off). So this is a natural fit for the idating population. There's an overpopulation of younger guys, and an overpopulation of older women.
