True Beginnings, the company behind the dating site, has to take several actions such as obtaining members’ consent to transfer their private information to a third-party buyer. In Oct, Mr Abbott objected to True.com’s proposed sale of its 43M-member database to POF.

In November, Hinge raised $4M from the likes of Red Swan and 500 Startups. It has launched in Boston, Philadelphia, and New York City, with San Francisco or Chicago up next. ~100K people have signed up. An average person logs in 40 times per month.

SF CHRONICLE - Dec 9 - Zoosk has picked Bank of America to lead its IPO, along with Citigroup and Royal Bank of Canada. Zooks has 40M active members and 2.9 percent market share. Zoosk said in May that Q1 revenue topped $40M and visitors to the website more than doubled from the prior year.
