LAW.COM - July 5 - In 2014, the FTC took its first enforcement action against an online dating service, the agency faulted the England-based JDI Dating Ltd. for using fake, computer-generated profiles that lured users into upgrading their accounts. Lawrence Walters of the Walters Law Group, represented JDI Dating in the FTC investigation and described their settlement as a "victory for the company" that he attributed to the company's cooperation with federal regulators.
