ELITEBUSINESS MAGAZINE - Oct 10 - In 2013, Robyn Exton was trading shots of tequila for signups for Dattch, her newly launched dating app for gay women. Dattch was the pre-cursor to Her, the dating app for queer, bisexual and gay women. The app secured $1M funding from investors such as Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, Garry Tan, co-founder of Posterous, and the British serial entrepreneur Michael Birch. About the same time, Her went live in the US, and the team decided to relocate to the US. Today, the app has over a million users and is available in the UK, the US, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Thailand, Germany, South Africa and the Netherlands.
