BLACKSTARNEWS - Mar 22 - Naza Shelley is the founder and CEO of CarpeDM, a dating app for professional black women. The idea for CarpeDM came from her personal frustration using existing dating apps. She couldn't find anything that spoke to her, as a Black woman. She was always encouraged by her parents to try new things when she was growing up, from sports to leadership positions, volunteerism and music. CarpeDM is an exclusive member-only dating community for professional Black women. The app provides personal matchmaking services using video. The app runs background checks on 100% of its members. Naza has raised ~$200K from friends and family.
