FORBES - ChatGPT sprung into the public consciousness in Nov when it was released by the AI research firm OpenAI. ChatGPT is considered a generative AI app because it takes some text from a user as input and then generates an output consisting of an essay. All you need to do is enter a prompt and the AI app will generate for you an essay that attempts to respond to your prompt. The composed text will seem like the human hand and mind wrote the essay.
