Dating App Courtem Lands Mark Cuban As Adviser, Investor

DALLAS BUSINESS JOURNAL - Mar 10 - Courtem, a Dallas-based startup's dating app, has attracted the attention of one of the most prominent Dallas entrepreneurs and investors: Mark Cuban. The von Gontard brothers - Peter, Alex, Adie, Andrew - created Courtem nine months ago and launched it on Dec. 4. The startup has so far raised $3M from a group of investors. Courtem allows users to instantly propose a date to other users.

Courtem Brings Chivalry To Dating Apps

CULTURE MAP - Jan 8 - Much like Tinder, users receive a bunch of profiles, and they can look through pictures and see mutual Facebook friends. From there, however, they have the option to “Pass” if there’s no interest, “Hold” on to the profile for later or “Court.” If they pick the third option, users are prompted to propose a date in 140 characters or less and schedule a time for said date. So far, Courtem has more than 1,300 users in Dallas in less than a month of activity.
