So she took to her computer keyboard and joined DateMyPet where pet aversion is not tolerated. "There are 40 million single pet owners," said Dan Cohen, CEO of animalattraction.com. "This is a big business." Yahoo personals surveyed 5,000 users and found that 91% of them would use a pet as a conversation starter. More than three-quarters said a person's pet gives greater insight into the owner's personality.
