GOOD MORNING AMERICA - Apr 4 - More dating sites cater to people with a big interest level in food and restaurants. Serious Eats, a food blog & community, has recently partnered with HowAboutWe. HiDine is another dating site for food lovers. Only men can ask women out on a date, and in doing so they commit to picking up the tab. The site has ~3K members with a ratio of two girls to every guy. SamePlate was founded in 2012 by TV producer-writer Jeff Nimoy, after he wanted to find a partner to eat Paleo with him. Users can use the free site to find a gluten-free pizza lover or any other mix of diet and food combinations.

Facebook Is Blocking Dating Ads Until Valentine's Day

BUSINESS INSIDER - Jan 19 - Facebook has temporarily blocked some dating sites from advertising if they are new to Facebook. Dating sites won't be able to advertise on FB until after Valentine's Day. Kyle McGinnis, the CEO of HiDine, says his ads ran for months on FB and were only recently bumped from the site. He believes Facebook is biased in favor of bigger dating sites with larger ad budgets.

HiDine.com: Women Choose The Restaurant, Men Pay the Bill

GOOD MORNING AMERICA - Dec 4 - HiDine.com is a dating site that allows women to post their favorite restaurants. Men then can propose a date in those restaurants and pick up the check. Male users pay $5 per date.

NYMAG - Oct 29 - HiDine is a new dating site for people who like fancy meals, and agree that men pick up the check. Carrot Dating, a site that launched two weeks ago, has a similar concept. The app asks potential couples to agree on a “bribe”, which could be a plastic surgery or a tank of gas, before the date. The app already has 30K downloads.
