BUSINESS WIRE - Nov 14 - Pair, a new app for iPhone designed to bring respect, safety and honesty to dating, is launching in US. On the app, users give each other a thumbs up or down for behavior, whether they are safe to be around, and whether their profiles are accurate. Pair then generates a safety and profile accuracy rating for each member. Members are rewarded for being responsive, behaving well and being active on the service. This reward comes in the form of prioritizing a member's profile.

THE AGE - Oct 2 - Celeste and Hui Ong are investing $2M into their new dating app Pair. They are using funds from the $6M sale of their Eatability website to Optus in 2012. Eatability was one of the earliest restaurant review sites with an Australian focus. Pair, which launched in the App store last week, is focused on user feedback, verification and a virtual "matching assistant".

SYDNEY MORNING HERALD - Sep 18 - Pair is the brainchild of husband and wife team Celeste and Hui Ong, founders of Eatability. The app offers both photo-based swiping, and an active search function based on mutual interests. Users must submit a phone number and app-based selfie. Much like Uber, users rate each other, and these ratings are combined to form an overall rating. Users rate each other across three categories – profile accuracy, safety, and general behaviour. The app itself prioritises those who are responsive and active on the site, and whose behaviour is rated highly. The value of the app, Ong told me, is to promote positive behaviour.
