Love Is ‘No Battlefield’ With The Blockchain

Posted on February 19, 2018

BlockchainFORBES – Feb 19 – Dating services have now become a $3B market. A study by Pew Research Center has shown that use of dating apps by Americans (18-24) tripled in 2016 vs in 2013. Usage by "Baby boomers" aged 55 to 64 doubled within the same time span. Today, emerging technologies like blockchain are now figuring out ways into the industry as well. For example, networking and connection platform MatchPool is a pioneering dating-meets-blockchain application. And, up-and-coming services like Hicky and Ponder are also seeking to improve upon the current online dating experience. Manshu Agarwal, Ponder's CEO and co-founder, said: "The blockchain has been called the Internet of Value, providing new ways to reward people for their time and effort." Ponder incentivizes it's users to create successful matches. Blockchain can improve security. The technology provides means to secure data and transactions. Blockchain's transparency could also help encourage good behavior among users.

Here’s Why Matchpool (GUP) Just Gained Close To 100% In A Day

Posted on December 7, 2017

Matchpool logoGLOBAL COIN REPORT – Dec 4 – Matchpool had a highly successful ICO in April 2013, raising just shy of $6M with the goal of using the capital to develop a networking type platform. The company has launched an alpha release platform that looks strong and its market capitalization (or, more accurately, the market capitalization of the GUP token base) is rising fast. Over the last 24 hours alone, GUP has gained close to 100% and currently trades for $0.46 a piece, up from the $0.09 at which the token traded on ICO day. Matchpool is a sort of community type platform that requires users to be introduced to one another, with the person who does the so-called matchmaking receiving payment in GUP for doing so.

Posted on May 2, 2017

Matchpool logoFINANCE MAGNATES – May 1 – Matchpool raised $5.73M in just over a day to fund its blockchain-based 'Slack Meets Tinder' matchmaking platform. Matchpool Denies Co-Founder Claims Its CEO Pulled $1.7M Exit Scam

Posted on April 10, 2017

Matchpool yonatan ben shimonCOIN TELEGRAPH – Apr 7 – The Blockchain project Matchpool raised over $5.7M in 48 hours. However, the community was shocked the next day to discover the company co-founder Philip Saunders' public accusations that its CEO Yonatan Ben Shimon had disappeared with $1.7M. To withdraw funds, a user must receive confirmation from every private key holder (its co-founder, CEO, directors, advisors, etc). So the suspicion grows of a case of fund mishandling and miscommunication from the Matchpool team as they enabled a member of the company to withdraw $1.7M of investor money without requesting him to provide an evidence as to how the funds will be used.
